Classes, camps & parties at The Nest are a ton of fun!

So, we want to make sure everyone who walks through our doors & is part of our community is safe. To do that, we need everyone on the same page by reading through our expectations & policies.

Please read the following policies carefully, and feel free to reach out to contact us with any questions.

GENERAL POLICIES

BY ENROLLING INTO ANY CLASS, CAMP, EVENT OR PARTY WITH THE NEST, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

KINDNESS & RESPECT

Our goal is to foster a positive learning environment filled with creativity & collaborative fun for both our students & parents. You & your child agree to treat all participants of The Nest programs with kindness & respect.

SOMETIMES WE GET MESSY

We love to have fun & get messy! Please make sure your child is properly dressed for The Nest activities – this means wearing shoes & clothing that you’re chill with getting dirty. We will provide access to aprons, but you know how kids can be.

WE RESPECT OUR MATERIALS

As a space that offers art classes, we use a wide range of materials in our art projects including, but not limited to: paint, glue, pastel, chalk, fiber, wax, glue guns, hammers, & other sharp objects. While we do our best to monitor every child’s use of these materials, accidents may occur from time to time due to the inherent risk of using these materials. You understand that these materials are not meant for consumption & will instruct your child not to consume any materials & to always conduct themselves in a safe & responsible manner.

NUT FREE

The Nest is a NUT FREE space, say it with us now, “I AM NOT NUTS!” waiiiiiit a second… But really, no nuts are allowed at The Nest.

SAFETY FIRST

The safety of your child & other children is our top priority. It’s always appreciated when parents have conversations with their children to reinforce our safety expectations. You acknowledge that your child has no physical, emotional, or social conditions that make it dangerous or unwise for your child to safely participate in our programs. Running inside The Nest is dangerous for both your child & others around them so your child agrees not to run when participating in The Nest programs & events.

FEELING CRUMMY

Please do not bring your child to The Nest if they are showing any signs of illness including a runny nose, cough, or fever (eye-roll, we know, that’s broad but we’re trusting you to use your best parental judgment). The Nest reserves the right to deny a sick child participation in our activities.

Drop-OFF & Pick-UP

We ask that each time you drop your child off at The Nest you will COME INSIDE to CHECK your child IN & OUT. We know coming to The Nest can be so exciting that your kiddo wants to arrive as early as possible, we’re excited to see you too! However, we are trying to get ready for all the fun things we have in store for you, so please wait until at least 5 minutes before start time to come inside. 

Running late happens, we get it. Austin traffic, woof! However, we request that if you are going to be late to pick up your child, please give us a call at 512-436-3019. Late pickups may be subject to a $50 late fee beyond 15 minutes of end time.

CARPOOLING IS COOL

If your child will be carpooling or picked up by someone else, please go into your Sawyer account & update that information under the “comments” section. We will need a record of this to allow your child to leave with someone other than their parental guardian. It is our #1 goal to keep everyone safe & this process helps us to manage everyone’s safety & whereabouts.

CLASS, CAMP & EVENT REFUND POLICIES

Semester Class Refund:

  • An initial non-refundable/non-transferable deposit fee is required at the time of enrollment. You will have the choice to Pay In Full or in installments + the deposit.
  • If you are registered in a semester class you may cancel and receive a full refund – the initial deposit up to 14 days before the first class.
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the first class will receive a half refund – the initial deposit.
  • No refunds will be given after the class series has begun.

Camp Refund:

  • An initial non-refundable/non-transferable deposit fee is required at the time of enrollment. You will have the choice to Pay In Full or in installments + the deposit for 2-day, 3-day, 4-day or 5-day camps.
  • Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the camp start date are eligible to receive a full refund – the initial deposit amount.
  • Cancellations made prior to 14 days of the start date are eligible to receive a 50% refund – the initial deposit amount.
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the start date are non-refundable and non-transferable!

Event Refund:

  • Event payment is due at the time of enrollment. Because of the limited capacity and high demand of our events, we do not offer refunds or credits for any reason including, unexpected illness or conflicts in your schedule.
  • Any listing that is only 1 day despite being called a “camp” is considered an event. 

MAKE-UP POLICIES

We know it’s the worst when you miss out on a class or day of camp and we’re always so sad when you can’t come! However, if you do end up missing a day of class/camp we do not offer make-up classes, pro-rated tuition, or refunds. But we promise to do our best to catch you up on anything you’ve missed once you return 🙂

There are no make-up classes, pro-rated tuition, or refunds for classes/camps missed due to inclement weather.

We do not offer makeups or refunds for missed classes, even if you know you will miss ahead of time.

The Nest reserves the right to cancel any class at least two hours prior to the start of the scheduled activity, registered participants will be notified by email.

Reasons for Possible Cancellation:

  • A class, camp or event enrollment doesn’t exceed 5 kids
  • Unexpected school closures announced by Austin area school districts or private schools
  • Holiday/school breaks in correlation with Austin area school districts or private schools
  • Unexpected school closures due to weather, power outages, emergencies, or natural disasters, including temporary closures due to illnesses

PARTY POLICIES & CONDITIONS

BY BOOKING ONE OF OUR PARTIES AT THE NEST, YOU UNDERSTAND & AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

BOOKING A PARTY

The first step to book one of our parties is by visiting our PARTY tab, please read the IMPORTANT INFO. section so that you understand what we’ll need from you once you head to the party calendar section. 

★ When inquiring about a party, choose from one of our party themes. Even if you aren’t sure about what you want – just pick one to start with!

★ Under SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS – please give us additional dates & times that would work for you, as well as much information about the theme or ideas for what you envision for the party you’re seeking!

The more info / dates / times you give us the quicker we can get back to you & it allows us less back-and-forth time emailing you for more information. 🙂 Thank you so much for understanding!

 

WHAT A PARTY INCLUDES

  • Access to our space for 2 hours
  • The first 1.5’ish hours are teacher-led where we’ll create whatever the special birthday kiddo has chosen to do
  • The last 30 minutes will be the party families time to celebrate with treats, drinks, pizza or whatever you decide to bring *teachers will not lead and facilitate this time
  • 12 party-goers (additional goers $45 each)
  • Customizable & personalized options
  • Teacher-led craft or activity 
  • Clean up on US!

HEADCOUNT

Because our parties are customized and personalized to each individual birthday kiddo, there is a lot of planning, prepping and ordering that needs to be done before hand, that is why we require your final headcount 14 days prior to your party date. It allows us enough time to plan accordingly and make sure that we have enough materials for the special celebration.

Whatever headcount number you give us will be the # of guests reflected on your final invoice, regardless of the day of attendance.

NUT FREE

The Nest will remain a nut-free studio, therefore we expect that families respect & abide by this policy when bringing in outside food. We encourage you to make sure that you are aware of any allergies that party guests may have.

REFUND & CANCELLATION PARTY POLICY

There are no refunds for cancellations (of guests or parties). Should you need to reschedule your party, a $75 rescheduling fee will be applied & a future date will be determined as available/mutually agreed upon.

CAMPS & EVENTS POLICIES

BY ENROLLING IN A CAMP OR EVENT WITH THE NEST, YOU UNDERSTAND & AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

CAMP & EVENT SIGN-UP IS NON TRANSFERABLE

Camp or Event spots are NON-TRANSFERABLE, they may not be transferred to another child or siblings.

DROP-OFF & PICKUP

Drop-off may be 5 minutes prior to start time – we appreciate you respecting our time because it’s often that we are preparing right up to when your kiddo walks through the door! You are welcome to wait outside if you arrive early but please be mindful of the specific arrival & pickup times.

We understand that delays happen, so if you are running behind to pickup your child, please give us a call at 512-436-3019 and let us know when we can expect you. Late pickups may be subject to a $50 late fee beyond 15 minutes of end time.

NUT FREE

FRIENDLY REMINDER: When packing your child’s snack & lunch, please NO peanuts, walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts (Nutella), cashews, pistachios, brazil nuts, or nuts of any kind. This includes nut butters and nut milks.
